Successes

SUCCESSES AND AWARDS:

July 2022. Irena Dawid-Olczyk becomes the winner of the TIP Hero award. The award was given for: “extraordinary leadership and direct assistance to victims of trafficking in human beings”. The award was presented by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

May 2020. Irena Dawid-Olczyk became the laureate of the Polish Business Roundtable Award in the category “Social activity”.

October 2018. The “Architect of Development” award was granted by the Global Compact. The award was granted for: “For over 20 years, the Foundation has been preventing and fighting against human trafficking and providing direct and practical assistance to victims of these crimes.

February 2016. Irena Dawid – Olczyk and Joanna Garnier were granted the Crosses of Merit (gold and silver) by the Minister of the Interior and Administration. The crosses were awarded “for 20 years of continuous efforts to prevent human trafficking”.

October 2015. ISergio Vieira de Mello Award is granted to individuals and non-governmental organizations for their activities for the benefit of peaceful coexistence and cooperation of different societies, religions, and cultures.

September 2014. Irena Dawid-Olczyk was awarded the medal “for Merits to the Border Guard”.

December 2011. Irena Dawid-Olczyk was granted with the Paweł Włodkowic Award. The award is granted by the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights for “defending fundamental values and truths, even against the opinion and views of the majority”.

December 2010. Golden Telephone Award, a distinction granted by The Polish Nationwide Emergency Service for Victims of Domestic Violence of The Psychology Health Institute to individuals and NGOs particularly distinguished in the field of counteracting domestic violence.

October 2009. Saint George Medal was awarded to Stana Buchowska, the coordinator of the Prevention of Female Trafficking in Central and Eastern Europe Program La Strada.
